This is a film of Carl Larsson at his home in Sundborn. It must cover a period of time, because it goes from seeing them in a summer garden to the area being flooded. It is a precious snapshot in time.
Take a look at the ladies hats at the very beginning and their costumes of the period. Also the table set outside in the garden for a meal, notice the serviettes/napkins rolled up in little towers on each of the plates. It is these little things that I think are so interesting to see. I love his paintings.
I've never heard of this artist but I looked him up and really like his work. I could happily have his paintings on my wall. The video is interesting too.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's amazing! I love Carl Larsson's art and in fact have already bought a 2013 calendar of his paintings. The dresses are lovely indeed, especially the stripey one. The people here seem happy together, I like how they seem to be affectionate towards one another. I wonder if children these days would be so happy just to sit quietly and model for a painter?!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much also for your really kind comment on my blog.
