The Colour of Firewood and It's Smells

This firewood is a deep purple in colour, other wood we have is very yellow.  Then of course there are different smells, not just the different tree smells, but if it was old barn wood.  One time it had to have been wood from a barn where they had had chickens running around in it.  Last night I'm sure I smelled tobacco, like the smell of tobacco curing in a barn.  Not unheard of in this area, because the Amish grow and cure tobacco.
