Hi Dear Folk,
It is up to 90 F again and quite humid. We had a nice holiday weekend, going over a friends on Sunday for dinner, and cleaning on Monday, good cleaning where things are moved out, and moved in and more organized, that was in the Simla room, more to do there to finish it though. I was happy to have it done, I hate things getting too unorganized and I felt that room was, plus it just need a good old spring clean.
Well a little more on my trip to Ithaca area.
Old and abandoned, we may have been trying to get back for The Boy to go to the gym, but how could we pass by an old abandoned school. First of all the Art Deco front, at least I think it is, drew us to the building. The boy stops, jumps out, tries the front door and guess what it is not locked. How could we not go in for a little nose around. The Boy loves to photo abandoned buildings, so do I come to that.
We were amazed that it was so intact, something like this around our way would be ripped apart. Look at all the lovely old stained woodwork, not even painted over, and all the old hardware on the doors.
We soo wanted to go up those stairs, but didn't want to go too far into the building and outstay our welcome.
Someone must have been using it to store antique furniture.
Look at this leaded glass, it was in the entrance hallway and was the cupboard to hold the school memorabilia and trophies. A pair of leaded glass doors.
Hope you had a good weekend.
Christy

I cannot believe that building was open and there was no destruction inside. I see the little doll house in one of your pictures, it would have been hard for me not to take it with me.

That is so amazing! Fancy being able to just walk in like that. It would all be trashed here.
