21st September 2018 A Walk Around Flam

Hi Folk,

After lunch we decided to take a walk out of the main part of town, along the river and the valley.  Waterfalls are everywhere.

The thing that is nice about walking you can stop and smell the flowers.

He's a big old fellow isn't he?

I loved the lanes and the stone walls, the red houses, Norway is beautiful.  In fact we met a girl working in one of the shops and she said she was from Sweden, but loved to come and work here every summer because of the scenery.

Look at this sod roof.  I guess when the Norwegian settlers came out to the mid west America and they built a sod roof cabin, it was not unknown to them.

The sky in Norway changes continually.

Here are the covered mail boxes of which I have a shot taken from the train as we passed by.

Jean is a great walker me not so much, but I think a summer spent gardening had helped, we enjoyed our foray out from the madding crowd.
