Edison and Ford Museum, Fort Myers, Florida

Edison and Ford were close friends and one of the things they liked to do together was travel, they named themselves the Vagabonds.  The four Vagabonds included Harvey Firestone and John Burroughs. For this Henry Ford had one of his Model T Fords adapted as a chuck wagon, with all the necessities of life on the road camping.

Quite on entourage would make up these trips, chauffers, chefs and photographers.  Can you believe the clothes they wore?  White studded shirts, bow ties and waist coats.  Below are some of the items they would take.  I love the basket and little primus stove.  White table cloths and tea with cups and saucers, also accompanied these trips.

Some of Thomas Edison's inventions.
