The Kingdom of God - 100 Years and Counting Exhibit

Galileo challenges the church.

You think a suitcase on wheels is an idea of the last few decades, but here in 1908 these cases were used to hold a collection of books called the Millennial Dawn.  The wheels could be folded up at the end of the day to go home on the street car.

These are just a few of the slides from The Photo Drama of Creation, first released in 1913.  It was a combination of glass slide pictures, moving film and coordinated with voice sound, well ahead of the talking movies of it's time.  This was presented around the world and over 9,000,000 people saw this.

Here is some of the original equipment used and the photo in the background shows how much luggage had to be taken from town to town.

Conscientious objectors during the First World War in Dartmoor Prison, Richmond Castle Prison and working on the Welsh Dams.

During the Second World War in Nazi Germany.  Above are photos of ones who died in the concentration camps or were executed.  All Jehovah's witnesses in the camps had to wear a purple triangle on their prison garb.

Just a few photos form these exhibits.

  2. What a wonderful post! I can only imagine how amazing The Photo Drama Of Creation was for all those who were able to see it back then. It's still amazing all these years later. I'd love to see the exhibit one day. Thanks for sharing!
